In Bhatkal, Uttara Kannada district, 7 new cases were reported on Wednesday, May 6. Shimoga district where there was not a single case, reported 8 first cases. Dakshina Kannada district registered 3 new cases on Saturday, May 9.
All these districts border Udupi.
Meanwhile, 30 people from Udupi district who had visited the First Neuro Hospital in Mangaluru have been placed in quarantine. Their samples have been sent for testing.

Arrivals in the district stood at 133 on Sunday, May 10. Between May 4 and 10, 471 people from Telangana, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh have arrived in the district. All of them have been sent to quarantine centres.
A total of 93 people’s samples were collected on Sunday, May 10. Of these 5 have respiratory problems, 1 had contact with COVID-19 positive patient, 6 have flu, and 81 were in a COVID-19 hotspot. 24 people’s test reports arrived with all testing negative. 232 people’s report is yet to come.
