Udupi: Four members of ‘cattle slaughter gang’ nabbed

Udupi: Four members of ‘Team Garuda’, were arrested by the special police teams of the Brahmavar circle station.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Sharif of Kaup, Mujahid Rehman of Trasi, Abdul Majid of Kotatattu, Sayyed Akram of Bhatkal.

‘Team Garuda’ is an online Instagram account formed to allegedly plan cattle theft and execute them.

A team headed by Ananth Padhmanabh, circle inspector of Brahmavar along with Gurunath Hadimani, PSI Brahmavar, and Madhu, PSI Kota was formed after the Team Garuda carried out many cattle thefts in Brahmavar and Kota police station limits.

During the arrest, the police also seized one scooty, a car, four long knives, two ropes, and a tarpal worth Rs 3,20,000.

The arrest was conducted under the guidance of Vishnuvardhan, Police Superindent Udupi Siddalingappa, ASP, and the teams were led under the guidance of Sudhakar Nayak, DSP Udupi Ananthpadhmanabh, Circle inspector Brahmavar. Gurunath B Hadimani, PSI Brahmavar Madhu, PSI Kota, and police personnel of Brahmavar and Kota police station also helped in solving the case.
