Udupi: Health certificate mandatory for patients entering district

Udupi: In a meeting chaired by district Deputy Commissioner (DC) G Jagadeesha, it was decided that all patients entering the district seeking emergency treatments should possess a certificate from either the District Health Officer or the Taluk Health Officer certifying that the bearer does not have any COVID-19 symptoms.

The DC has notified other district DCs regarding this move.

The DC added that the patients will also be undergoing a check-up at the check posts set up at all entry points into the district.

It was also decided in that all hospitals and clinics in the district will have to share details of patients suffering from respiratory disorders, cold and cough with the district administration.

All three COVID-19 positive cases in the district have recovered. The district administration had sealed the district borders and are allowing only those needing emergency medical care.
