It will take two days to dredge, get water and supply it. In this backdrop, there will be no water supply on May 5th and 6th. Attempts will be made to supply water on May 7th, informed civic officials.

The water level at the dam was less than 1.25mt on Saturday. If care is not taken to come up with alternative options, the situation is only going to get worse.

Situation to get worse from today

The importance of water will be understood on Sunday. Presently, even though the water was coming once in three days, it would take quite some time to reach some places. At many places, water is not coming since a week. At some places, even if the water comes, it cannot each elevated areas.

Desilting has not been conducted

Presently, there is more than 4 feet of silt deposited in Swarna River. Desilting has not be conducted. It is only getting pushed until the arrival of the monsoon. It is being said that if desilting had been done earlier itself, the situation would not have become this serious.

Wait for the arrival of rain

In 2017, there was a serious water problem in the months of April and May. In 2018, just as the problem was beginning, there were rains and hence it was not realized. But currently, it is a serious problem.

No water even if there is a tanker

Even though there are enough water tankers in the city, there is not enough water to supply. If there is water, let us know, we will provide the tankers, say the tanker owners.

Attempt to supply water on May 7th

“Two days are required to dredge, amass water and thy supply it. People’s cooperation is essential for this. We will attempt to supply water from May 7t onwards,” informs Anand Kallolikar, Civic Commissioner, Municipality
