Udupi: Nagaradhane brings good fortune: Sri Krishnapura Matha

Udupi: The religious, social, and cultural fervor was palpable as Sri Vidyasagaratheertha Sripada of Sri Krishnapura Matha inaugurated a prelude program on Friday at Sri Vishweshathirtha Vedike. The event marked the beginning of the countdown to the third ‘Ashtapavitra Nagamandalotsava,’ scheduled for January 31 at the esteemed Sri Naga Sannidhi of Kidiyoor Hotels.

Addressing the gathering, Sri Vidyasagaratheertha Sripada emphasized the significance of performing ‘Nagaradhana’ in the Nagabhoomi created by Parashurama. He highlighted that this ritual is believed “to bring not only good fortune but also blessings of prosperity, business development, and the cure of diseases.”

“Bhuvanendra is a witness that continuous social work leads to increased individual wealth, which, in turn, flows back to society,” he declared, encouraging attendees to actively participate in social welfare activities.

Shri Vidyaprasannatheertha Shripada of Sri Kukke Subrahmanya Mutt added his blessings, recognizing the Naga Mandala as a center of harmony for dharma-karmas.

The event saw the presence of prominent figures, including Dr. G Shankar, Honorary Chairman of the Naga Mandalotsava Organizing Committee, and MLA Gurme Suresh Shetty, who extended their good wishes.

Bhuvanendra Kidiyoor, MD of Kidiyoor Hotels, and other dignitaries, including Purushottama P Shetty and former MLA K Raghupathi Bhat, also graced the occasion. Purushottam P Shetty, MD of Ujwal Developers;  businessmen Gopal C Bangera; Sadhu Salian Malpe; Adarsh Hospital’s Medical Director Dr GS Chandrasekhar; Prasad Nethralaya Super Specialty Eye Hospital’s Medical Director Dr Krishna Prasad Kudlu; Former President of Malpe Fishermen’s Association Hirianna T Kidiyoor; Committee General Secretary Yuvraj Salian Muscat; Director of Kidiyur Hotels Jitesh B Kidiyur; and Rajendra Suvarna Hiriyadka were also present.

The program included the disbursement of subsidies and awards. Individuals facing health challenges were provided medical assistance. Dr. Krishna Prasad Kudlu and Dr. G S Chandrasekhar, recognized for their outstanding contributions to social work and medical services, were honored during the ceremony.
