Interacting with media persons after an hour-long phone-in programme at the District Police Office, Nimbargi said that strict action would be initiated against those found violating rules with regard to shrill horns and tinted glasses.

Since the violations are persisting, despite the imposition of fines during a similar drive undertaken by the police last time, this time round the police would confiscate the vehicles itself, he informed.

Responding to a caller who complained about drunkards creating a nuisance near the KSRTC bus stand Nimbargi said he would direct the Hoysala police patrol to maintain a vigil in the area from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

A caller complained that autorickshaw drivers were overcharging passengers by not using the fare metres at Kallianpur- Santhekatte area. Another caller brought to his notice the illegal stone mining activity taking place at Belur village in Kota police station limits and complained of inaction by the local Panchayat Development Officer, despite having filed a coplaint. The SP assured of action in both matters.
