Dr Sudhirchandra Sooda, District Health Officer informed that the cases have been reported from a private hospital and Urban Health Centre in Udupi.
Further Dr Sooda asserted that the two vaccinated in the above centers showed symptoms of mild stomach ache, which could be due to apprehension, anxiety and nothing to do with the vaccine.
Dr Sooda assured that the patients who reported AEFI are doing fine and that the health team will continue with the vaccination programme as per the schedule.

Dr. Sooda along with Prashanth Bhat, district COVID-19 nodal officer and Dr M G Rama, district RCH officer took the vaccine on January 16.
Once the technical snags with COWIN app are resolved, the vaccination drive may receive a boost.
Dr Sooda even informed that most registered beneficiaries did not receive alerts from the COWIN platforms and that they have shared the findings with state health department.
One of the reasons why only 286 out of 538 beneficiaries turned up and received their vaccine on January 16 is the snag is the COWIN app.
Four new COVID-19 cases were reported in Udupi on January 17 and now the district stands at 23,222 positive cases. As of January 17, there have been 189 COVID deaths in the district.
