Udupi’s 10 pink booths to encourage female voters

Udupi: 10 pink booths, meant exclusively for women voters, have been set up in different parts of Udupi district. These booths will consist of only female staff who will wear shades of pink. The entire staff, including presiding officers and security personnel, of these booths will be women. These pink booths are even equipped with ramps for wheelchair.

There are five of these booths in Udupi Assembly Constituency, two in Karkala Assembly Constituency, and one each in Kaup, Byndoor and Kundapur Assembly constituencies.

In Udupi, two pink booths are located in Christian High School Main Building (middle part), one booth in Christian High School Main Building (South Side). These three booths together have 1,247 women voters. One booth in St. Mary’s English Medium School (North Wing) and another booth in the same school (South Wing) in Udupi. These two booths together have 902 women voters.

One pink booth is located at Government Higher Primary School at Pervaje in Karkala (South Wing), while another is at the same school (North Wing). Both these booths together have 1,215 women voters. The Pink booth in Kaup constituency is located at Community Hall-cum- Gram Panchayat Office at Kurkal and has 648 women voters.

In Byndoor constituency, it is located at Gram Panchayat Office in Shiroor, and 396 women voters. In Kundapur, the pink booth is at P.V.S. Sarojini Madhusudhana Kushe Government High School, Voderhobli (Room No: 2 of Eastern Portion) and has 552 women voters.
