Ujire: Complaint filed against two gangs for fighting outside resort

Belthangady: Belthangady police have filed a case against a resort owner and few others for indulging in a fight.

The accused are Praveen, owner of the resort, and his companions, Manoj Kunjarpa, Ranjan Kadambu, Prajwal, Ganesh Shetty Kuntini, Sharat Kunjarpa, and some others. The complainants have alleged that Girish from Kodange House in Nidle village and his friends were badly beaten up by the accused. As per sources, two groups, one representing the owner of Hallimane Resort in Ujire village Praveen, and the other gang made up of customers fought outside the resort over a petty issue.

In his complaint, Girish said that after having food at the resort they settled the bill, and were moving out when reportedly resort owner Praveen and his accomplices raked up some irrelevant issue, which resulted in a verbal spat between the two groups.

He also informed that Rs 1,98,000 cash in his trousers pocket, and a four-sovereign gold chain he was wearing, and a golden chain of Sandesh, were forcibly snatched by Praveen’s gang.

Meanwhile, Savita Baptist (34), a partner of the said resort, also filed a complaint in which Girish, Bharath, Balakrishna, and Sandesh have been named as accused.

In her complainant, she mentioned that these people were stopped from consuming liquor inside the resort, which angered them. and they started using abusive words and attacked the people in the resort.

Both the complaints have been registered at Beltangady police station and the investigation is on.
