Farmers have been holding protests seeking repeal of the new farm laws.
During the weekly Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) session, MP Tanmanjeet Singh Dhesi, asked Johnson to comment on the ongoing protests in India.
Dhesi asked, “Will the Prime Minister convey to the Indian Prime Minister (Narendra Modi) our heartfelt anxieties and our hopes for a speedy resolution to the current deadlock, and does he agree that everyone has a fundamental right to peaceful protest?”

Shortly after Johnson’s reply, Dhesi took to twitter to criticise the Prime Minister. He wrote, ” It might actually help if our Prime minister knew what he was talking about.”
