The scheme was implemented in the year 2015-16 for a term of five years. The union government was decided to sanction Rs 4791 for five years starting from 2015-16. Rs 1259 was released in 2015-16 followed by Rs 1642 in 2016-17 and remaining fund worth Rs 2070 for 2017-20. The fund sanctioned on Friday will be utilized for drinking water supply, drainage, urban public transportation, environment conservation and others, the minister said. Advertisement
