Three leaders of the Popular Front of India (PFI)were taken into custody by the police for questioning in connection with certain cases.
Demanding the release of their leaders PFI activists held a protest in front of the police station on Tuesday, December 14.
The police let one of the leaders go, however, the activists pressured the police to release the other two. The organizers also decided to offer namaz in front of the police station at night. However, the police prevented them from doing so.

The department has now enforced section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code to control the situation.
