What strict action has been taken against them?” he asked.

On September 26, students were driving back after visiting Malpe beach had been allegedly stopped at Surathkal check post by the accused. It is alleged that the accused questioned the women for “being in the company of Muslims” and abused, manhandled the students. The police had arrested five Bajrang Dal activists for their involvement in the incident. All the accused were released on bail on September 29.

Khader alleged that lenient action by the police is the reason for the accused being released on bail within 24 hours of their detention.

He also accused the ruling party for the helplessness of the police administration. “Who has been pressuring the police to lenient action against the accused?” he demanded to know.
