Speaking to reporters, he said that the news doing the rounds that vaccine will not be provided during the lockdown is false as vaccination comes under essential service.

“We will register and vaccinate people as it is the only solution presently available,” he said.

“Everyone including those over the age of 18 must get vaccinated. Presently, there is no vaccine shortage in the State. The Central government is supplying vaccines on the basis of population,” he added.

“Getting vaccinated can prevent further infections. Large scale preparation will be done to prevent the pandemic’s third wave. At some point, we need to be ready for some degree of sacrifice. This move (14-day lockdown) is necessary to break the chain of the virus spread. I request people to cooperate,” Sudhakar said.
