This significant event, in partnership with the Association of Indian Universities, brought together talented female athletes from universities across the country. It highlighted the collaborative efforts of MAHE and the Association to advance gender equality and celebrate sporting excellence. The platform provided not only a competitive arena for women’s cricket but also emphasized the value of inclusivity and outstanding performance in sports.
The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Lt. Gen. (Dr.) M.D. Venkatesh, Vice Chancellor of MAHE, and Dr. Sharath Rao, Pro Vice Chancellor (Health Sciences) at MAHE, who congratulated the teams for their exceptional play. Lt. Gen. (Dr.) Venkatesh commended the athletes, stating, “This tournament has showcased the incredible skill and resilience of our young women athletes. Their dedication and spirited performance on the field have significantly contributed to the advancement of women’s cricket in our nation.”
Dr. Sharath Rao emphasized the integral role of sports in the comprehensive development of participants, highlighting the lessons in teamwork, leadership, and resilience learned through competition. “The exceptional talent and sportsmanship demonstrated throughout this tournament illustrate the crucial role of sports in forging well-rounded individuals. We are proud to facilitate such platforms that not only spotlight sporting prowess but also foster personal development among our students,” he noted.

The final scores were: Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Punjab at 123/8, and Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University, Jaunpur, UP reaching 124/7, securing the win by 3 wickets. Player of the Match honors went to Ms. Sampdha Dixit for her remarkable performance.
Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar, took third place, with MD University Rohtak in fourth. Special awards were presented to Ms. Megha from Guru Nanak Dev University as the Best Batter of the Tournament and Ms. Priyanka Mutreja, also from Guru Nanak Dev University, as the Best Bowler and Best Player of the Tournament, recognizing their exceptional contributions to the sport.
