Veteran Kannada actress B Shantamma no more

Bengaluru: Veteran Kannada actress B Shantamma breathed her last at her daughter’s residence on Sunday, June 19. She was 95.

She was suffering from heart ailment. On Saturday night, her condition deteriorated and we were unable to get a hospital bed in time, her daughter told media persons.

Her last rites will be performed only after her Covid-19 report, she added.

Having started her acting career in the year 1956, Shantamma has done supporting roles in over 450 films in Kannada, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

She has played roles alongside famous actors namely Dr Raj Kumar, Vishnuvardhan, Ambareesh, Rajnikanth and Anant Nag among others.
