Vittal: Pickup truck crashes onto roof of a house, woman stuck under wreck

Vittal: A pick-up rolled off the road and crashed onto the roof of a house near Koorelu on the Perialtadka-Saradka road here. A woman in the house has been stuck under the debris.

It is learnt that the driver of the pickup vehicle lost control and the vehicle overturned after rolling off the slope near the Liquor shop before crashing onto the roof of the house.

The tiled roof of the house suffered extensive damage.

The woman was asleep in the house when the incident took place. It is learnt that the woman got pinned under the wreck and cannot be freed after the pickup is removed.

Vittal police and emergency services are on the scene. Rescue efforts were underway at the time of publication.
