The meeting which was chaired by committee president Dr Sidde Gowda and attended by vice chancellor of Tumakuru University Members, Dr Rame Gowda, Prahlad and D B Nayak was held at the Utility Building in Bengaluru.
According to sources, the heated arguments occured on the issue of selection for some time, between the representative of the government and the member representing the Governor. It is understood that the governor’s representatives insisted on finalizing the name suggested by him for the post. However, it was met by stiff resistance from others which only escalated the situation.
Hence it was decided that the search committee would finalize three names and recommend these names to the government. The government in turn, will finalize one name and send to the Governor. If the Governor rejects the candidate, the government would be compelled to suggest another name. If this name too is rejected, a new search committee would be required to be appointed, informed sources.
