Water at 4am in the morning!

If once the water is provided at 4am in the dawn, the next time the water is being provided during the night. Because of this unpredictability the people are in a shock, they can neither sleep peacefully nor presume the next arrival of water.

Water wasted

If on one side the entire ward is reeling under the lack of water resource, on the other hand, a few houses are using the very same limited resource to wash their vehicles, for their garden and other work. It is being alleged that because of this, the houses existing on elevated locations are facing a major scarcity of water. The people have urged for immediate action in this regard.

Demands of the people from the ward

  • Provision of bore wells to particular areas
  • Silt and rock removal from Baje dam
  • Increase water pressure
  • Provide water once in two days
  • Provision of water through tankers for elevated locations

If money is spent on water, there is none left for food!

“The purchased water has to be judiciously used for cooking, drinking, restroom and for washing clothes. The situation is only worsening by the day in this ward. On one hand the municipal officials are failing to provide us with water on the other hand, if the money earned through day wages is spent on water, how will be survive?” asks Vidya, a local resident

Relatives please do not come home!

“If the problem persists, the anxiety of settling at ones hometown begins to haunt. We have informed out relatives and children to not to come home during the vacation. The water being provided by the municipality is not enough for the four of us at home. If relatives come, then we will have to get tanker water daily,” says Veena, Doddangudde

Not going to programmes

“Since the water pressure is low, it will take hours together to fill water. Therefore it is impossible to go to any functions occurring at homes of relatives,” informs Shalini, Doddangudde 1st Cross
