External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar today launched a brochure outlining India’s priorities as part of its campaign to secure an elected seat at the UN Security Council

The elections for the 5 non-permanent seats of United Nations Security Council will take place on June 17 with India being one of the candidates.

Priorities Paper, issued as a brochure by the Minister, set out the key priorites for India:

1.New Opportunities for progress

2.An Effective response to international terrorism

3.Reforming the multilateral system

4.A comprehensive approach to international peace and security

5.Promoting technology with a human touch as a driver of solutions

Also, India’s approach will be guided by “Five S’s”, as set out by the Prime Minister

1.Samman (Respect)

2.Samvad (Dialogue)

3.Sahyog (cooperation)

4.Shanti (Peace)

5.Samriddhi (Prosperity)
