“Party seniors told me to get my documents ready. I was quite surprised that I was chosen as a candidate by the party high command,” Jaggesh said.
“I did not try for any post; Did not ask anything… I was completely engrossed in the spokesperson’s duties on social media. However, the party has shown its confidence in me,” he added.
Once elected to the upper house of the Indian Parliament, Jaggesh said, he would be working to uphold the virtues of Kannada at the national level.

With the Rajya Sabha ticket, Jaggesh has got a fresh opportunity for his political revival. Though he has contested a couple of elections, he is yet to win an election. he had contested for the Legislative assembly from Yeshwantpur but lost. However, he had not talked or shared his opinion about the defeat with anyone. The chance for a Rajya Sabha seat is being seen as his elevation in the party circles.
