Shalini Chouhan, 24, was given the task of solving a ragging case that made national headlines. She decided to go undercover and in order to avoid raising suspicion she quietly slipped into the crowd of students.

Chouhan reportedly spent her days at the college canteen and mingled with other students.

The police officials had received anonymous complaints of ragging from students. According to the reports, first-year students were forced to engage in degrading behaviors including pretending to have sex with pillows. However, the complainants chose not to come forward or identify the accused, possibly out of fear of being harassed.

Chouhan was able to collect information from the students which led her to identify the seniors who were harassing newcomers.
