After her marriage to Rajesh Kamath, she moved to Barkur from Bengaluru, where she was initially based. She claims that there wasn’t much to do intellectually at her abode except domestic chores and taking care of the family until her husband met with an accident and sprained his ankle.

Following which Supriya started driving her husband to the factory and spent time helping him with the work. Soon she developed an interest in the business and started involving herself in the ongoing of it regularly.

Supriya played a great role in the family business, in times of crisis and became an integral part of the growth phase of the company.

Recalling the initial days in business, Supriya narrates, ” There were initial glitches where the other businessmen wouldn’t talk to me directly and asked for my husband even in projects that were lead by me,” There was a notion that women don’t know much about business, but all these changed as my ideas and initiatives were far fetched,” continued Supriya.
