Yellapur: Three inter-district car thieves arrested

Police officials have apprehended a group of inter-district car thieves who had stolen a Toyota Innova parked outside a house in Sharada Galli.

The three accused have been identified as Mohammed Sahil Sheikh Mohammed Attavara, Mohammed Mustafa Abdul Hamid Suratkal and Mohammed Abdul Hameed.

The incident took place on April 3 when Mohammed Hussain Shamsuddin Sheikh’s Innova was stolen by the trio. However, the police were able to recover both the stolen Innova car and a Fortuner that was used in the act.

The operation was carried out under the guidance of SP Vishnuvardhan, additional SP Jayakumara, and DySP Ganeshsa K L. Several personnel including CPI Ranganatha, PSIs Ravi Guddi, Sunila Hallolli, Manjunatha Patila, Latha K N, Basavaraja Hagari, Mohammed Shafi, Gajanana Naika, Girisha Lamani, and Parashuram Kale participated in the operation.

The accused have been produced in court, and the police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
