Due to the heavy rains expected, the DC has declared holidays for the weekend for the school and hence the school sent the students including the siblings back home around 8:30am. The father works as the security guard and the mother does odd jobs at Mont Tiara apartment in Nanthoor. Since it was a holiday, the siblings went out to play. In the course of time, the girl realized her brother was missing. As her mother stopped by to check on them, the girl told her that gangsters in a car tried to abduct them. The girl informed that she had escaped from her abductor by jumping out of the van when he slowed down the vehicle to tackle a road hump.
As the news spread across the locality about the abduction it created a sense of fear. Eventually, Kadri Police intervened to investigate the matter and discovered that it was a case of false alarm. The police verified the the girl’s account, but informants said no such vehicle had been spotted.
After sometime, the boy returned unaware of the development, yet the sister stuck to her story. The parents soon grew skeptical of their daughters claim and the persistent questioning by the police broke down the girl who admitted that she had made up the story with help from a TV soap plot.
