Youth charged with murder charges of a eight year old

Kasargod: The district and sessions court sentenced a youth to rigorous life imprisonment in connection with murder charges of a eight year old.

The accused has been identified as Vijayan (31) from Periya Kannoth.

The incident took place on July 9, 2015 when Vijayan stabbed Fahad(8) while he was on his way to school along with sister.

Though Fahad tried to escape, Vijayan stabbed him multiple times and fled from the spot. The boy was immediately taken to a nearby government hospital but was declared dead later.

Hours after the crime, the locals nabbed the accused and handed him over to the Bekal police.

After further investigation, it was revealed that Vijayan killed due to revenge against his father over an old rivalry.
