Youth drives away with police jeep, flees after accident

Chikkamagaluru: A couple sustained injuries after a youth driving a stolen police jeep rammed into their vehicle near Zilla Panchayat building here on Monday.

The jeep (Raksha 1) belonging to Basavanahalli Police station was parked at Hanumanthappa Circle.

Shortly after driving away, the youth is said to have collided the jeep into a car thus injuring its occupants. He fled the accident spot leaving behind the damaged jeep beside the road.

A CCTV footage of the youth driving away the jeep has gone viral.
