The University however said that the interest that was earned from the total fund kept aside for awarding the students with gold and silver medals was not enough and that is why the students were asked to pay for the same.

On Wednesday, the university had a special association meeting regarding this issue and have come to a conclusion that the students will not pay Rs.500 anymore and that the students will be awarded the gold medals and rank certificates from the university’s fund according to the university act.

Officials from the university also assured that the university will go by the benefits of the students and hence the decision has been made. The university shall also discuss on how to ensure enough flow of funds to the University for the betterment of the students.
