The people who have temporarily relocated will be given food, medical care and other essential facilities at their respective camps, the government authorities said. As of now, the authorities have asked the residents of Kurubarahalli and Nayandanahalli to relocate to the locations identified by BBMP.

The decision for relocation came after five people lost their lives at Kurubarahalli and nearby areas on Friday late night following artificial floodwater emerged from lake canals. Weather forecasts have stated that heavy rainfall will continue for the next three to four days in Bengaluru.

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, state cabinet ministers, leaders of opposition BJP including BS Yeddyurappa, DV Sadananada Gowda, JDS national president HD Deve Gowda and others visited flood affected Kurubarahalli and nearby areas on Saturday.
