Belthangady: Woman stabbed by ‘lover’ after she refuses to elope with him

Belthangady: A 21-year-old woman was stabbed by her lover after she refused to elope with him.

The accused is identified as Shamir (22).

It is gathered that Shamir and the woman were in a relationship for the past five years and last week he asked her to elope with him to which she refused. Irked by this the accused went to her house and stabbed her.

Following the incident, the family members handed over Shamir to the police and the injured woman was rushed to a government hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

Local police have registered a case in this regard
