The accused was identified as Shriram Mulkavan, a former chief traffic manager at BMTC.
Shriram, along with six colleagues from the commercial department of BMTC, was placed under suspension following an internal investigation initiated by BMTC, which brought to light the purported malpractice.
The Assistant Security and Vigilance Officer, Ramya C.K., filed an FIR at the Wilson Garden police station on October 2 against the seven suspended BMTC officials, uncovering a grave case of fraud. As per the complainant’s account, the corporation incurred a cumulative loss of over Rs 17 crore due to the alleged malfeasance, police officials said.
