Mahalakshmi’s body, which had been chopped into 50 pieces, was reassembled by the doctors before performing the postmortem. A preliminary report has been submitted to the Vyalikaval police to assist in the ongoing investigation. DNA testing and other examinations are expected to take place within the next few days, and a complete report will be available within a week.
Initial findings suggest that the murderer fatally stabbed Mahalakshmi in the chest and abdomen, severed her head, and then dismembered her body into around 50 pieces.
Search for the Accused:
The police are conducting a manhunt across West Bengal, Odisha, and other northeastern states for the suspect, who is believed to have brutally murdered Mahalakshmi, possibly due to an illicit relationship. After the murder, the accused fled to West Bengal and switched off his phone to avoid being tracked.

Frequent Changes in Hideout:The accused has been frequently changing his hideout, delaying his arrest. He had known Mahalakshmi for six to seven months and had an illicit relationship with her. Fingerprints of four to five individuals were found on the walls and fridge of Mahalakshmi’s house. Authorities are working to determine whether the murder was committed by a single person or involved a group of three to four individuals, according to sources.
