The issue started wit the BJP government cancelling HD Kumaraswamy-led coalition government’s decision to sanction the medical college to Kanakapura – the constituency represented by the Congress leader, and proposed to build it at Chikkaballapur. In this backdrop, Shivakumar had said that Yediyurappa is sending a message of pursuing revenge politics.

Meanwhile, Vokkaliga leader and DyCM CN Ashwath Narayan further fueled the controversy by challenging DK Shivakumar stating that Chikkaballapur’s chances are higher as it is a district headquarters. On his part, Shivakumar has maintained that he will fight if the government does not sanction medial college for Kanakapura.

The BJP government is all set to inaugurate the new medical college in Chikkaballapur in about a week’s time — on November 8.
