Udupi: The outward flow of water as started at Baje dam which provide water to the city. As of Friday, the water level has reached 6.6 meters and additional water has been let out.
Water at Swarna river has started to flow due to the rain experienced in the district since June 10
th. The sluice gates of Mundli dam in Karkala have been opened. Due to this, the flow of water has increased. O May 5
th, the water inflow into Baje dam had stopped due to which, scarcity of water was being in the city. Since the last month, the municipality resorted to water rationing by dividing its 35 wards into 6 zones and was providing water once in 6 days.
Continuous water supply will be started from June 23
rd, informed a municipal official.
