Dakshina Kannada district has been witnessing series of unpleasant incidents following communal tensions for the last 45 days. However, the police failed trace and arrest the culprits behind the scene to stop the communal violence in the district. Chief Minister reportedly blamed Western Range Inspector General of Police Harishekharan for his failure to control the situation in the district even if section 144 is being posed for the past 47 days.
Speaking after the meeting with senior officials of state police department chief minister said, “the police department has asked to take strict act against any person, organization including SDPI, RSS and others who indulge or provoke violence in Dakshina Kannada.”
“The police will also register case against law violators under Goonda, Coca and other acts to control the situation in the district. The police will exile the culprits who engage in serious criminal offences,” chief minister added.
