Davangere: Woman stabbed to death in broad daylight

Davangere: In a shocking incident, a young woman was stabbed to death in broad daylight here on Thursday, December 22.

The deceased has been identified as Chand Sultana (24), a resident of Vinoba Nagar.

The incident took place at around 11.30 am and was captured on CCTV camera. In the footage, Chand can be seen arriving on her two-wheeler on Church Road where she stopped to talk to a person. Later, the youth is seen stabbing her with a knife before escaping the spot on a bike.

Reportedly Sultana was engaged to a person, hailing from Harihar around 8 months ago. She however opposed to the marriage. It is suspected that this could be the reason for her murder.

A case has been registered at Barangay Police Station and investigation is ongoing.
