The police have been maintaining a vigil at the border to check the influx of travellers from neighbouring states of Kerala and Maharashtra following a rise in Covid cases.
Ahead of the SSLC exams, that is scheduled to take place on July 19, Hariram Shankar in a media briefing stated that parents of SSLC candidates will be permitted to go without much delay after conduct of RT-PCR test.
Apart from the check post at Talapady, five additional check posts will be set up at Taudugoli, Nettilapadav, Naarya Cross, Nandar Padpu and Mudugara Katte. Police personnel will be deployed in three shifts with medical team at the check posts.

As new variants of coronavirus has been reported in neighbouring states, the police have upped the vigil at the check posts. It has also been urged to deploy medical teams at the checkposts.
A RT-PCR test report, once in 14 days is a must for students, job-holders who commute between Mangaluru and Kerala daily. It will be considered as passes, while other commuters should undergo the test, once in 72 hours.
If anyone tests positive for Covid during the random testing at the check posts, the same will be conveyed to Kerala government so that they are placed in isolation.
