Delhi elections: BJP Karnataka takes 'kagaz' jibe at Muslim women voters

Benglauru: Taking a jibe at Muslim women voters, flashing their voter-ID cards outside a polling booth in Delhi the BJP Karnataka unit in a tweet said Keep the documents safe, you will need to show them again during NPR [National Population Register] exercise”.

A video of the women voters, waiting to cast their votes was shared on the official Twitter handle of the BJP’s Karnataka unit on Saturday and captioned it: “Kaagaz Nahi Dikayenge Hum” ! ! !

 

Meanwhile, netizens have criticised the tweet, while a social media user also pointed out that documents are not needed for the NPR exercise.

“*NRC exercise. Documents are not needed for NPR. Please make correction & re post,” read a tweet by one Shraddha.

Voting for the Delhi Assembly election began at 8 am on Saturday.

The “Kaagaz nahi dikhayenge (won’t show papers)” slogan has been a common at the anti-Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) protests across the country.
