120th Anniversary of Sanskrit College: Call for Alumni to Unite – Vidwan Prasannacharya

Udupi: The prestigious Sanskrit College in Udupi is celebrating its 120th anniversary with grandeur through its annual festival and the Sanskrit Utsav. Vidwan Prasannacharya, Diwan of Sri Puttige Krishna Matha, expressed pride in the institution’s long-standing history, stating, “It is rare to find institutions with such a legacy. Over the years, this college has contributed immensely to the nation by producing revered seers, renowned scholars, cultured educators, and responsible citizens. The 120th anniversary celebrations should be exceptional, and the Matha will provide full support for this cause.”

He further called upon the alumni to join hands and contribute to making the event a grand success. Vidwan Prasannacharya was speaking at the inauguration of Sanskrit competitions held as part of the Sanskrit Utsav at the Sri Manmadhva Siddhanta Prabodhaka Sanskrit College.

Encouraging students, he said, “Participate enthusiastically in these competitions and reap the benefits of Sanskrit. This is a golden opportunity. May it bring prosperity to all.”

The college principal, Prof. Satyanarayana Acharya, welcomed the gathering and explained the purpose of the festival. He remarked, “In our daily lives, festivals divert attention and offer moments of joy. Similarly, this Sanskrit Utsav aims to draw people toward Sanskrit and its rich heritage. Participants from various high schools and organizations have been invited to make this event vibrant.”

The event commenced with a prayer by student Shrikar Upadhyaya. Vidwan Anila Joshi delivered the vote of thanks, and Dr. Mahendra Somayaji coordinated the program
