Bengaluru: Senior Congress leader and former state Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy on Sunday opined that the criterion for inducting ministers into the Cabinet is incorrect.

Speaking to presspersons here Reddy said that he did not harbour a personal grudge against anyone but was displeased with the parameter used by the high command in choosing the cabinet ministers. “I am not opposed to the party decision of inducting R.V.Deshapande, K.J.George, D.K.Shivakumar, Krishna Byregowda and M.B.Patil, all of who are senior leaders, into the Cabinet but am questioning the differential treatment given to me,” he said.

“I lost out on the ministerial berth because of one person whose name I will disclose at an opportune time,” he added.

Further Reddy said that though four state Congress leaders were in regular touch with the Congress High Command to discuss issues pertaining to the state they also did not recommend his name for the ministerial post. He, however, refused to mention their name either.

Regarding Sowmya Reddy’s tweet expressing her discontent on his exclusion, Reddy said that she had not spoken to him before posting the tweet and added that he had not asked his supporters to stage protests as well.

My future goal is to bring back the Congress-led government back to power in the Union and I will continue to work for the party in the same manner as I had been to achieve this.
