DK and Udupi DC's declare holiday for schools and PU colleges

Mangaluru/Udupi: Owing to heavy rains, deputy commissioners of both Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts have declared holiday for schools and PU colleges on August 13^th.

Since, past three days, heavy rains have lashed the city. Water-logging situation has been witnessed in various parts of city. Dakshina Kannada received a maximum of 14.9 cm over the last 24 hours.

Due to the heavy rains, Schools and colleges in Dakshina Kannada remained shut also on August 11^th. A weather advisory from the Bengaluru centre of Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the heavy rains are likely to continue in the region over the next three days.
