Earth has lost 28 trillion tonnes of ice in less than 30 years: Scientists

UK scientists claim that 28 trillion tonnes of ice has disappeared from the surface of the Earth since 1994

According to The Guardian, The scientists, based at Leeds and Edinburgh universities and University College London  describe the level of ice loss as “staggering”

Their analysis indicates that sea level rises could reach a metre by the end of the century

They observed satellite surveys of the planet’s poles from 1994 to 2007 to identify the impact of rising greenhouse gases on the planet.   The results were published in the journal Cryosphere Disc
