Awareness on voting: Human chain formed along the coast

Mangaluru: With the aim to spread awareness regarding voting, a human chain programme titled ‘Praja Sangama’ was organised by the district SVEEP committee along the Mangaluru’s coast on Sunday April 7th.

Scores of people participated in the human chain event that started from the beach at Talapady on the southern tip of the district through Ullal, Bengre, Tannirbavi, Panambur, Surathkal and ending at Sasihitlu on the northern tip of the district covering a distance of 42 kms. Various programmes were also organized including dramas, songs, kite festival and others.

Speaking at the human chain programme held at Bengre Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil said, “Election is everyone’s right. Celebrate voting and everyone must vote. I had a dream that a programme must be organized bringing together many people along the coast. Now it has been realized. Bengre coast will be further developed,” he said.

Vote for development

State Youth Committee ambassador Shabari Ganiga said, “The youth must provide their vote for the development of the country,” he said.
