Bengaluru: The two-day spectacle of Bengaluru Kambala, the debut of the buffalo race from coastal Karnataka districts in the state capital, drew to a close on a high note on Sunday.

Buffaloes from the movie ‘Kantaara’ won prizes, making fans happy. The second day ran smoother than the first, with more people coming to watch on big screens. Many in Bengaluru watching Kambala for the first time, expressed their happiness. This Kambala event was also a rare occasion where political leaders from all walks of life came together. Leaders from both the ruling Congress and the opposition BJP showed their support.

Sunday being a holiday there was higher footfall than the previous day. At least 8 lakh people attended the debut Kambala event in Bengaluru. At the conclusion of the event, buffaloes were boarded into lorries to transport them back to their homes on the coast. With heavy hearts and teary eyes, Bangaloreans bid farewell to the beloved buffaloes.
