The complainant, Rajeshwari (36), a resident of Pattagara Palya accused Akshatha, Adeena, and Premamma of conniving her and stealing her mangalsutra when she had gone to the hospital for treatment following chest pain.

Reportedly, Rajeshwari experienced chest pain on February 8 afternoon. As her condition worsened by the night, her husband, Venkatesh Murthy took her to the private hospital where doctors suggested conducting an ECG test.

Nurse Akshatha, who was on duty, instructed Rajeshwari to remove her mangalsutra for the test. Rajeshwari said that she would hand the same to her husband and asked the nurse to call him. However, Akshatha insisted she keep it under her pillow.

After completing the ECG procedure, Akshatha handed over tissues to Rajeshwari to wipe off the gel and asked her to leave the room. At the time, nurse Adeena and housekeeping staff Premamma were also present.

Meanwhile, Rajeshwari forgot about the mangalsutra and returned home with her husband. Later she fell into a deep sleep as she had taken pain medication. It was only the next day while taking a bath that Rajeshwari remembered her mangalsutra. The couple went to the hospital to inquire but got a vague reply from the staff.

Suspecting the involvement of female staff in the theft, Rajeshwari filed a police complaint. Police have initiated an investigation.
