Speaking to reporters in Mangaluru on Wednesday, Gundu Rao said “There is no need for Congress to do a ‘Operation Hasta’… The country has witnessed how much BJP has ruined the political system through ‘Operation Kamala’. BJP most adept at carrying out such operations by giving money and threats.”

Congress party is open to dialogue with those who willingly choose to align with it. “We have no need of fracturing or poaching from other political parties,” he added.

Addressing the recent speculations surrounding potential defections from the Janata Dal (Secular), Gundurao stated, “We don’t know how many people from JD(S) may opt to join Congress. It is conceivable that many are dissatisfied with the current trajectory of their party. Such developments are commonplace in the realm of politics, and we have no plans to orchestrate any form of operation.”

Further, he said that the BJP’s apprehension of impending defeat in five states appears to be surfacing.” Resorting to unfounded allegations seems to be a recurring strategy for the BJP,” he added.
