Gold worth Rs 2.5 crore seized at Kozhikode airport

Kochi: Gold weighing 6.8 kg and worth Rs 2.5 crore was Tuesday seized from three people who arrived at Kozhikode International Airport from Sharjah, customs officials said.

The three passengers and a person who came to the airport to receive them have been detained by the Air Intelligence Unit of the Customs, Customs Commissioner Sumit Kumar said.

The gold was extracted from 9 kg of paste, officials added.
