Heavy vehicle traffic prohibited on NH-169 from Mala to SK Border via Thanikodi Gate

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Dr. K. Vidyakumari has issued an order prohibiting the movement of heavy vehicles along a 30 km stretch on NH-169 from Mala to the SK Border via Thanikodi Gate.

The order comes in response to the dilapidated condition of the bridge near Korkanahalli and Gulgundi Mane on this route, which led the Deputy Commissioner of Chikkamagaluru to ban heavy vehicle traffic. Consequently, heavy goods vehicles traveling from Udupi district on this road will also be prohibited from passing from Thanikodi Gate to the SK Border.

Alternative Routes

Heavy vehicles coming from Chikkamagaluru will be diverted through the Balehonnur-Magundi-Kalasa-Kudremukh-SK Border route. Vehicles from the Narasimharajapura side will travel via Koppa-Jayapura-Balehole-Kalasa-Kudremukh-SK Border route, according to the DC office’s notification.
