Hula Hoop: 5-year-old Aadhya sets world record

Mangaluru: A new world record in number times hula hoop is spun has been set by Aadhya A, a resident of the city, and her attempt has been confirmed by India Star Book of Records and India Star World Records in the month of June.

Aadhya achieved the world record by continuously spinning the hula hoop for 4000 times in kneeling down position in a span of around 34 minutes and 25 seconds. The record setting performance was performed by her at Priyadarshini Montessori house of children, Yeyyadi on April 6, 2019.

The panel of India Star Book of Records monitored the live performance, verified the complete video of Aadhya’s performance and declared her performances eligible for the world record. Post proceedings of two months, Aadhya received her record certificates on June 6 from the monitoring committee. She will receive a cash award from the committee of India Star Book of Records as well.

Aadhya (5) is the daughter of Ashwin and Priyanka couple, residents of Matadakani in the city. Talented Aadhya has shown her ability in many fields including acting as a child artiste in many dramas and also portraying a role in a Tulu movie ‘Jabardast Shankara’ directed by Devadas Kapikad which is currently under production. Aadhya has also many prizes in skating, dance and singing. Recently, Tulunada Rakshana Vedike conferred her with the ‘Taulava Kumari’ award in the programme Taulava Uchchaya as a sign of encouragement to her talents.
