Jaleel murder case: Dist. Administration revokes liquor sale prohibitory orders

Mangaluru: Following the Krishnapura Jaleel murder case, Section 144 was extended from December 27 to 29 in the Surathkal, Bajpe, Kavoor and Panambur police station limits falling under the Mangaluru Commissionerate jurisdiction. The district administration had also prohibited the sale of liquor in these areas.

Currently, the liquor sale prohibitory orders have been revoked.

As per the earlier circular issued by the office of Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner, to avoid any untoward incident by anti-social elements by consuming liquor and creating a ruckus inturn affecting the law and order situation, the sale, transportation, and storage of liquor in Surathkal, Bajpe, Kavoor, and Panambur police station limits falling under the Mangaluru Commissionerate jurisdiction has been prohibited from December 25, 10 AM to December 29, 10 AM.

Currently, as the situation is getting back to normal, the district administration has decided to revoke the prohibitory orders.
